OBERLIN, Ohio- The Mount Union men's swimming and diving team defeated non-conference opponent Oberlin, 126-87 Friday night for their ninth straight win of the season.
Leading the way for the Purple Raiders (9-0) was Logan Palochak (Hopewell,Pa./Hopewell) who each won three events on the night.
Palochak won the 100 yard backstroke (55.91) and the 50 yard freestyle (22.61) while also included in the 400 yard medley relay first place finish along with Tyler Fry (Massillon/Washington), Jack Ineson (Huron/Huron) and Alex Machovina (Amherst/Amherst) with a time of 3:39.75.
Fry also placed first in the 100 yard freestyle with a time of 49.56.
Others placing first in their events were Cole Ellsworth (Temperance, Mich./Bedford) in the 1000 yard freestyle (10:19.40) and the 500 yard freestyle (4:59.87), Nick Hoffman (Fremont/Fremont Ross) in the 100 yard butterfly (55.23), and Tyler Moore (Amherst/Amherst Steele) in the 200 yard freestyle (1:50.40).
Mount Union returns to the pool tomorrow January 21 in Wilmington, Ohio to take on Ohio Athletic Conference opponent Wilmington at 1:00 PM.
