WILMINGTON, Ohio- The Mount Union men's swimming and diving team defeated Ohio Athletic Conference opponent Wilmington, 111-94, Saturday afternoon for their tenth straight win of the season.
Leading the way for the Purple Raiders (10-0) was Cole Ellsworth (Temperance, Mich./Bedford) who placed first in three events on the day.
Ellsworth placed first in the 200 meter freestyle (2:02.40), the 400 meter freestyle (4:17.57) and was included in the 200 meter medley relay (1:53.11).
Will Turnbull (Cuyahoga Falls/Cuyahoga Falls) Jack Ineson (Hudson/Hudson) and Nick Hoffman (Fremont/Fremont Ross) were also a part of the 200 meter medley relay.
Others placing first in their events were Logan Palochak (Hopewell,Pa./Hopewell) in the 200 meter backstroke (2:15.71). Jim Novinc (Chagrin Falls/Gilmour Academy) in the 800 meter freestyle (9:23.77) and Tyler Moore (Amherst/Amherst) in the 200 meter breaststroke (2:32.52).
Mount Union hosts non-conference opponent Westminster Saturday, January 28 at 1:00 PM in the Hammond Natatorium.
