WILMINGTON, Ohio- Mount Union's women's swimming and diving team defeated Ohio Athletic Conference opponent Wilmington, 138-64, Saturday afternoon.
The Purple Raiders (7-3) were led by Dana Lautenschleger (Solon/Solon) who placed first in three events on the day.
Lautenschleger placed first in the 200 meter backstroke (2:27.26) and was included in the 200 meter medley relay (2:10.21) and the 200 meter freestyle relay (1:59.88).
Also included in the 200 meter medley relay were Elise Pichola (Rocky River/Rocky River), Peyton Kranz (Berea/Berea) and Jenna Kassinger (Silver Lake/Cuyahoga Falls). Kassinger along with Ann Zielasko (Silver Lake/Hobanmm) and Erin Bain (Beaver Falls,Pa./Blackhawk) were each a part of the 200 meter freestyle relay.
Pichola also placed first in the 100 meter butterfly (1:12.35). Others placing first in their events were Megan Leibensperger (Uniontown/Green) in the 800 meter freestyle (10:09.83), Regina Saxon (Hudson/Hudson) placed first in the 200 meter IM (2:41.97) and the 200 meter breaststroke (2:52.31) and Lauren Oktavec (Brunswick/Brunswick) in the 200 meter freestyle (2:20.27) and the 400 meter freestyle (4:55.72)
Mount Union hosts non-conference opponent Westminster Saturday, January 28 at 1:00 PM in the Hammond Natatorium.
