ALLIANCE, Ohio - The Mount Union wrestling team defeated the Ohio Northern Polar Bears (0-2, 0-2 OAC) 25-9 in their home opening Ohio Athletic Conference dual Tuesday night at the McPhearson Academic and Athletic Complex.
The Purple Raiders (7-0, 2-0 OAC) won 7 of 10 matchups to continue to be undefeated in duals this season. The Polar Bears kept all matches tight as all but two were won by decision.
Freshman Nolan Wochna (Brecksville/Brecksville-Broadview Heights) and sophomore Isaiah Watson-Kirksey (Alliance/Alliance) secured 10 points for the Raiders in the 25-9 victory. Ranked seniors #10 Nick Mancini (Boardman/Boardman), #8 Alec Cotton (Hartville/Lake) and #9 Jesse Gross (Norwalk/St. Paul) all secured wins and continued to set the tone for Mount Union as their win steak marches on.
Mount Union will next travel to Greenville, Pa. for a dual match against the Thiel Tomcats on Friday, December 8 at 7:00 pm.
