ALLIANCE, Ohio -- Mount Union's women's swimming and diving team dropped to 4-2 overall after a 136-126 loss to St. Vincent (Pa.) Friday in the Hammond Natatorium.
Senior Dana Lautenschleger (Solon/Solon) and junior Lauren Oktavec (Brunswick/Brunswick) led the way for the Purple Raiders as they each recorded two wins on the night. Lautenschleger won in a photo finish in the 200 yard freestyle with a time of 1:59.14 while Maddie Bartrug of St. Vincent finished at 1:59.16. Lautenschleger's second win of the night came in the 500 yard freestyle with a time of 5:24.48. Oktavec recorded wins in the 50 yard backstroke with a time of 29.70 and the 200 yard backstroke with a time of 2:16.50.
Senior Jessica Hirsh (Bethel Park, Pa./Bethel Park) had three second place finishes on the night in the 200 yard butterfly (2:23.08), 50 yard butterfly (28.63) and 100 yard IM (1:06.32). Also recording second place finishes on the night were sophomore Alison Jacobs (Canton/Glenoak) in the 1000 yard freestyle (11:47.81), freshman Lauren Stajcar (Strongsville/Strongsville) in the 50 yard breaststroke (32.72), and junior Regina Saxon (Hudson/Hudson) in the 200 yard breaststroke (2:36.22).
The Raiders have over a month off as they will next travel to Ohio Athletic Conference foe, Ohio Northern on Saturday, January 13th at 1 p.m.
