ALLIANCE, Ohio – The Mount Union wrestling team remains perfect in OAC competition as they defeated the Muskingum Fighting Muskies 39-9 Tuesday night at the McPherson Academic and Athletic Complex.
The Purple Raiders (9-1, 3-0 OAC) won 8 of 10 matches with a pair of tech falls as well as a pair of pins. Seniors Nick Mancini (Boardman/Boardman), Alec Cotton (Hartville/Lake) and Cody Carr (Brookville/Brookville) all secured victories for Senior Night. Freshman Luke Hernandez (Nashport/Tri-Valley) continued his high-scoring ways by defeating Muskingum's Toby Warrington 26-10.
The Muskies (2-5, 0-2 OAC) were led by Tanner Walker and Antonio Zapata who claimed wins in their rematches against Jesse Gross and Nick Corvo.
Mount Union will next travel to University Heights, Ohio and take on the John Carroll Blue Streaks on Tuesday, January 23 at 7:30 p.m.
