OBERLIN, Ohio-Mount Union's men's swimming and diving squad defeated Oberlin Saturday afternoon 166-56 at Carr Pool.
The Purple Raiders were led by Logan Palochak (Hopewell) who won an individual race and a relay on the afternoon. Palochak finished first in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 52.66. Palochak was also a member of the 200-yard medley relay with freshmen Ben Hoffmann (St. Cloud, Minn./St. Cloud Technical), Nick Dye (Massillon/Massillon Jackson) and junior Noah Kee (Canton/GlenOak) who finished with a time of 1:39.14.
Kee swam in the 200-yard freestyle relay with sophomore Derek Currey (McDonald, Pa./West Allegheny), senior Michael Jeromin (Chagrin Falls/Kenston) and freshman Sebastian Puentes (Miami, Fla./Doral Academy Charter) who recorded a first place time of 1:32.09.
Also tallying wins on the afternoon for the Purple Raiders was freshmen Brett Scheib (Gibsonia, Pa./Hampton), Isaiah Acosta (Buffalo, N.Y./St. Joseph), Brian Regovich (Eastlake/Eastlake North), Owen Zimmerman (Crawfordsville, Ind./Southmont), Kyle Kresl (Fort Wayne, Ind./Carroll) and junior Cole Ellsworth (Temperance, Mich./Bedford).
Freshman Ronnie Milam (Uniontown/Lake) and senior Kyle Greig (Mentor) both won in the 1-meter and 3-meter diving events respectively.
Mount Union's swimming and diving team will be back in action November 29 through December 1 at the Wooster Invitational.
