ALLIANCE, Ohio--Mount Union's women's swimming and diving squad fell in the home and Ohio Athletic Conference opener to John Carroll 149-145 Saturday afternoon at Hammond Natatorium.
Leading the way for the Purple Raiders was senior Lauren Oktavec (Brunswick) who placed first in the 100-yard backstroke and 200-yard backstroke. Oktavec was also a member in the 400-yard freestyle relay with junior Elise Pichola (Rocky River), freshmen Erika Drager (Berea/Berea-Midpark), and Lindsey Collins (Uniontown/Massillon Jackson) who recorded a time of 3:48.33.
Collins placed first in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 2:04.66.
Freshman Aurelia Incristi (Rockwall, Tex./Rockwall) swam a first place time of 25.90 in the 50-yard freestyle.
Sophomore Sarah Hrycyk (Massillon/Jackson) won in 1-meter diving competition.
Next up, the Raiders swim against Baldwin Wallace in an OAC dual Friday, November 9 in Berea.
