Women's Swimming and Diving: Raiders Power Through Bearcats

LATROBE, Pa. -- Mount Union's women's swimming and diving team collected a road win over St. Vincent (Pa.) by a score of 142-120 Friday evening.

Leading the way for Mount Union were seniors Sarah Gonda (Boardman) and Regina Saxon (Hudson). Gonda tallied first-place victories in the 50-yard and 100-yard backstroke while Saxon finished first in the 50-yard and 100-yard breaststroke. Gonda and Saxon were members of the 200-yard medley relay team that clocked a time of 1:56.04 with junior Elise Pichola (Rocky River) and freshman Lindsey Collins (Uniontown/Massillon Jackson) for first.

Collins and Pichola were also swimmers in the 200-yard freestyle relay that recorded a first-place time of 1:43.81 with freshmen Aurelia Incristi (Rock Rockwall, Tex./Rockwall) and Erika Drager (Berea/Berea-Midpark).

Mount Union returns to action on Saturday, January 12 when the Purple Raiders face Ohio Northern with a 1 p.m. start time.
