BEREA, Ohio – The No. 9 ranked Mount Union wrestling team fell to No. 6 ranked Baldwin Wallace (19-2, 6-0 OAC) 22-9 Tuesday night at Urpsrung Gymnasium.
The Purple Raiders (11-2, 5-1 OAC) won three of 10 matches all by decision. Mount Union secured wins in No. 6 ranked senior Nick Mancini (Boardman/Boardman), senior Alec Cotton (Hartville/Lake), No. 2 ranked junior Jairod James (Bedford/Bedford).
Mancini defeated #7 Chris Doyle by decision 10-6 to start the night at 125, while James was able to secure Mount Union's final win of the night at 174 pounds over Justin Ransom by decision 5-1.
In between those matches at 141, Cotton battled against BW's Charlie Nash for his 100th career win, making his overall record 100-32 and 26-7 on the season. Cotton is now the sixth wrestler in Mount Union history with 100 career wins.
Mount Union will next compete in at the NCAA Division III Central Regional at Wabash College in Crawfordsville, Indiana on February 23-24.
