NEW WILMINGTON, Pa -- Mount Union's women's swimming and diving team was defeated by Westminster by a final score of 156-140 Saturday in the Westminster Natatorium.
The Purple Raiders were led by senior Dana Lautenschleger (Solon) and junior Lauren Oktavec (Brunswick) who each recorded two individual wins on the day.
Lautenschleger posted wins in the 1000 yard freestyle with a time of 10:57.09 and the 500 yard freestyle with a time of 5:22.86. Oktavec recorded wins in the 100 and 200 yard backstroke with a times of 1:01.61 and 2:15.45, respectively.
Lautenschleger and Oktavec were also members of the 400 freestyle relay team that placed first along with sophomore Elise Pichola (Rocky River) and freshman Lauren Stajcar (Strongsville) that recorded a time of 3:48.93.
Also in the winners circle for the Raiders was senior Jessica Hirsh (Bethel Park, Pa./Bethel Park) who won the 200 yard butterfly with a time of 2:19.58.
The Raiders will be back in the pool, February 14-17 at the University of Akron in the Ohio Athletic Conference Championships.
