Men's Swimming and Diving: Raiders Fall Short against Wooster

ALLIANCE, Ohio--Mount Union's men's swimming and diving team were defeated by Wooster College 154-144 Saturday afternoon at Hammond Natatorium. 

Leading the way for the Purple Raiders was freshman Ben Hoffmann (St. Cloud, Minn./St. Cloud Technical) who collected victories in the 100-yard and 200-yard backstroke. 

Additional first-place finishes came from freshmen Brett Scheib (Gibsonia, Pa./Hampton) in the 1000-yard freestyle and Nick Dye (Massillon/Massillon Jackson) in the 100-yard breaststroke while junior Logan Palochak (Hopewell, Pa./Hopewell) tallied a time of 22.15 in the 50-yard freestyle. 

Palochak was also a member of the 200-yard freestyle relay squad that placed first with a time of 1:28.04 consisting of sophomore Mark Silver (Painesville/Riverside) and juniors Noah Kee (Canton/GlenOak) and Cole Ellsworth (Temperance, Mich./Bedford). 

The Raiders remain at home facing Westminster (Pa.) next Saturday, Feb. 2 for Senior Day with a 1 p.m. start time at Hammond Natatorium.
