Women's Swimming and Diving: Mount Union Defeats Oberlin

ALLIANCE, Ohio – Mount Union's women's swimming and diving team defeated Oberlin Friday evening 140-79 at the Hammond Natatorium.

The Purple Raiders (3-3, 1-1 OAC) were led by sophomore duo Aurelia Incristi (Rockwall, Tex. / Rockwall) and Callie Landry (Broussard, La. / Teurlings Catholic) both with two first place finishes.

Incristi claimed first in the 200-yard freestyle and 100-yard freestyle, while Landry took first in 200-yard IM and 100-yard backstroke.

Other first place finishes came from freshman Alexis Schuller (Middleburg Heights / Berea-Midpark) in the 1000-yard freestyle, sophomore Lindsey Collins (Uniontown / Massillon Jackson) in the 50-yard freestyle, junior Maggie Gyurke (Bellevue / St. Mary Central Catholic) in the 100-yard butterfly, and senior Marcy Spann (North Royalton / Cuyahoga Falls) in the 500-yard freestyle.

Junior Sarah Hrycyk (Massillon / Jackson) came in first in the diving competition with scores of 148.75 and 178.05.

Mount Union will be back in action Saturday, Nov. 16 traveling to Wooster, Ohio for a tri-match against Wooster and Thomas More at 1 p.m.
