LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- No. 5 ranked Mount Union was defeated by No. 7 Baldwin Wallace, 25-18, at the National Wrestling Coaches Association National Duals Saturday at the Kentucky Expo Center.
The Purple Raiders (10-2) got wins in four of the 10 contested matches and two matches featured nationally ranked wrestlers on each side.
At 149 pounds, No. 3 ranked Luke Hernandez (Nashport / Tri-Valley) of Mount Union scored a 3-1 win over No. 4 ranked Stanley Bleich, while at 133 pounds, No. 10 ranked David Massey (Cuyahoga Falls / Woodridge) suffered a close 2-0 loss to No. 3 ranked Charlie Nash.
Mount Union's other wins came in a pin from Seth Hayes (Rootstown) at 125, a tech fall from Grant Martin (Hartville / Lake) at 285, a major decision from No. 4 ranked Jordin James (Bedford) at 141.
The Raiders next compete Friday, Jan. 17 at 7 p.m. in a dual meet at Ashland.
