Women's Swimming and Diving: Mount Union Falls to Westminster

NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. - The Mount Union women's swimming and diving team fell to non-conference opponent, Westminster (Pa.), 176-121 Saturday afternoon.

The Purple Raiders (5-5, 2-2 OAC) were led by freshman Alexis Schuller (Middleburg Heights / Berea-Midpark), sophomore Callie Landry (Broussard, La. / Teurlings Catholic), and junior Maggie Gyurke (Bellevue / St. Mary Central Catholic) all posting two wins.

Schuller grabbed first in the 200 and 500-yard freestyle. Landry took first in the 1000-yard freestyle and 200-yard IM.

To round out the first place finishes, Gyurke claimed the 100-yard butterfly and 200-yard free style relay with help from sophomore Aurelia Incristi (Rockwall, Tex. / Rockwall), senior Elise Pichola (Rocky River), and sophomore Lindsey Collins (Uniontown / Massillon Jackson). 

Mount Union returns to the pool for the Ohio Athletic Conference Championships starting Thursday, Feb. 13 held at the University of Akron.
