OBERLIN, Ohio – Mount Union's men's swimming and diving team beat Oberlin 197-77 on Saturday afternoon.
The Raiders 200-yard medley relay team consisting of freshman
Mason Wilkson (Dayton / Chaminade Julienne), senior
Nick Dye (Massillon / Jackson), senior Jeff Labianco (Dayton / Chaminade Julienne) and senior Ben Hoffman (St. Cloud, Minn.) won with a time of 1:39.52.
Wilkson and Hoffman went first and second in the 100-yard backstroke, finishing with times of 55.60 and 55.88. Dye won the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:01.66. They also went first and second in the 200-yard backstroke.
Labianco won the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 22.11 and teammate junior
Jason Tondra (Canton / Jackson) took second in the event. Labianco also took second in the 100-yard butterfly. Labianco and Tondra were also members of the 200-yard freestyle relay team that won along with seniors
Brett Scheib (Gibsonia, Pa. / Hampton) and
Brian Regovich (Wollowick / Eastlake North).
Sophomore
Eli Holm (Murrysville, Pa. / Franklin Regional) won the 200-yard butterfly with a time of 2:04.99, with Scheib taking second in the event. Holm also won the 100-yard butterfly.
Junior
Nathan Williams (Columbia, S.C. / Irmo) won the 200-yard individual medley, finishing with a time of 2:03.57.
Sophomore
Eli Humeniuk (Sylvania / Northview), freshman
Xander Lentz (Trafford, Pa. / Penn Trafford) and freshman
Joel Weeman (Wooster) took first, second and third in the one-meter diving.
The Raiders are back in action Saturday, November 6 at 1 p.m. to take on John Carroll in University Heights, Ohio.
