ALLIANCE, Ohio – The Mount Union men's swimming and diving team beat Baldwin Wallace 144-97 on Saturday afternoon at Hammond Natatorium.
The Raiders 200-yard medley team consisting of seniors Ben Hoffman (St. Cloud, Minn.),
Nick Dye (Massillon / Jackson) and
Brett Scheib (Gibsonia, Pa. / Hampton), along with junior
Nathan Williams (Columbia, S.C. / Irmo) started the night off with a first-place finish, finishing with a time of 1:39.15.
Freshman
Conner Arneson (Mount Horeb, Wis.) finished first in the 1000-yard freestyle, with Williams taking second. Junior
Jason Tondra (Canton / Jackson) won the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:47.44.
Senior Jeff Labianco (Dayton / Chaminade Juilenne) won the 50-yard freestyle, finishing with a time of 22.39. Labianco also took second in the 100-yard butterfly.
Tondra and sophomore
Andrew Hathaway (Lexington) took first and second in the 100-yard freestyle, finishing with time of 48.29 and 49.87 respectively. Freshman
Mason Wilkson (Dayton / Chaminade Juilenne) won the 100-yard backstroke, with Williams coming in second.
Arneson also won the 500-yard freestyle, finishing with a time of 4:57.11. Dye won the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:01.44.
Sophomore
Eli Humeniuk (Sylvania / Northview) and freshman
Xander Lentz (Trafford, Pa. / Penn Trafford) took second and third in the one-meter dive.
The Raiders 200-yard freestyle relay team closed out the night with a win, finishing with a time of 1:29.28. The team consisted of Tondra, Labianco, Arneson and senior
Brian Regovich (Willowick / Eastlake North).
The Raiders are back in action next Friday, November 19 at 6:30 p.m. against Wooster at Hammond Natatorium in Alliance, Ohio.
