WILMINGTON, Ohio – The Mount Union women's swimming and diving team (2-1) took down Wilmington College (0-2) with a final score of 142-106 in an Ohio Athletic Conference matchup at the Wilmington Natatorium Saturday afternoon.
The Purple Raiders had first-place finishes in eight events. In the 800-meter freestyle freshman Elizabeth Regovich (10:37.01) secured first followed by junior Harlie Murphy (10:45.17). Junior Aurelia Incristi (Rockwall, Tex. / Rockwall), junior Molly Muckleroy (Uniontown / North Canton Hoover), and sophomore Grace Bjordahl (Yucaipa, Calif. / River Springs) swept the 200-meter freestyle event coming in first, second, and third respectively. Senior Lauren Stajcar (Strongsville) secured a win in the 100-meter breaststroke with a time of 1:27.42. Freshman Lauren Hurley (Perry) and sophomore Annabelle Saultz (Lorain / Amherst Steele) took first and second in the 200-meter butterfly. Freshman Maddie Horrigan (Hudson) took first in the 50-meter freestyle (28.71). Sophomore Emily Costanzo (Milford, Mich. / Milford) secured a win in the 100-meter freestyle (1:05.37), and freshman Elyssa Dean (Uniontown / Lake) secured a win in the 10-meter butterfly to round out the day.
The Purple Raiders return home for a Friday night OAC matchup against Ohio Northern Feb. 19 at 6 PM.
