ALLIANCE, Ohio – The Mount Union women's swimming and diving team rallied to defeat Ohio Northern 121-101 in an Ohio Athletic Conference dual Friday at Hammond Natatorium.
The Purple Raiders finished the regular season with a record of 3-1 and 3-1 in the OAC while Ohio Northern fell to 2-1 and 2-1 in the OAC.
Sophomore Alexis Schuller (Middleburg Heights / Berea-Midpark) secured victories in the 200-yard freestyle (2:02.01) and the 500-yard freestyle (5:32.01) to lead the way for Mount Union.
Other victories for the Raiders were by junior Molly Muckleroy (Uniontown / North Canton Hoover) in the 1000-yard freestyle (11:39.79), senior Lauren Stajcar (Strongsville) in the 200-yard breaststroke (2:42.60), and the 400-yard freestyle relay which consisted of Muckleroy, freshman Maddie Horrigan (Hudson), freshman Liz Abahazi (Delaware / Hayes), and sophomore Nichol Ellesin (Alliance / Marlington) with a time of 3:59.40.
Mount Union also went 1-2 in the 200-yard butterfly with junior Callie Landry (Broussard, La. / Teurlings Catholic) in first (2:23.51) followed by sophomore Grace Bjordahl (Yucaipa, Calif. / River Springs) with a time of 2:26.76.
Mount Union wraps up the 2021 season competing in the OAC Championships held March 25-27 at SPIRE Institute in Geneva, Ohio.
