OLIVET, Mich. – The University of Mount Union wrestling team won three duals at the Olivet Duals on Saturday.
The Raiders went 3-1 overall with wins over Saint Claire CC (24-24 won on criteria), Adrian (22-17), and Alma (42-12). Mount lost to host Olivet (28-12).
Highlighting the day for Mount Union were senior Jack Stanley (Brecksville, OH / Brecksville-Broadview Hts.) and first-year Nicholas Nettleton (Exeter, PA / Exeter Township) who both went 4-0 on the day. Neither Raider gave up a single takedown.
Stanley earned two bonus points wins, both by major decision, at 125 pounds. Nettleton earned two bonus points win, one pin, and one major decision at 157 pounds – including a win over the No. 5 ranked opponent in the Central Region.
First-year Nicholas Chaddock (Minerva, OH / Minerva) also went 4-0 at 184 pounds, including a come-from-behind victory.
Senior
David Reinhart (Canfield, OH / Canfield) went 3-1 at 174 pounds, including a win against the No. 4 ranked opponent in the Central Region.
Mount is back on the mats when it competes in the two-day Messiah Petrofes Invitational, starting on Friday, December 2.
