CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa — Mount Union's Jordin James (Bedford) won the national title at 141 pounds at the NCAA Division III Championships Saturday in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

It is the second national title for James, who won the 2019 title at 133 pounds. He is the first two-time national champ in school history and fourth overall. His older brother Jairod won the 174 pound title in 2018 and Dan Bobish won the heavyweight title in 1992.

James was the No. 1 seed this week and won his semifinal match 9-8 over Kyle Slendorn from Stevens Tech (N.J.). In the finals, he won a tightly contested 3-2 decision over Zayren Terukina of Wartburg (Iowa).

He finished this season 22-0, a career mark at Mount Union of 88-3 and a three-time All-American.

The Purple Raiders had another All-American at the event as David Massey (Cuyahoga Falls / Woodridge) placed sixth at 133 pounds. Massey was a two-time All-American, a three-time NWCA Scholar All-American and his 110 career wins is second most for anyone in school history.

Jack Stanley (Brecksville / Brecksville-Broadview Heights) was a national qualifier at 125 pounds.
