ALLIANCE, Ohio -- Mount Union's men's tennis team dropped its Ohio Athletic Conference opener, 5-4, to Capital Saturday inside Peterson Fieldhouse.

The Purple Raiders (0-6, 0-1 OAC) took two of the three doubles matches with wins from Colton Mace (Laurelville / Logan Elm) and Ryan McClure (Ashtabula / Lakeside) at No. 1 and Holden Schmid (Copley) and Lawyer Penird (Alliance) at the No. 2 spot for an early 2-1 lead.

Capital won the match taking four of the six singles matches with Mount Union's only wins from McClure at No. 2 singles and Penird at No. 4 singles.

Mount Union's next match is scheduled for Wednesday, April 6 at Baldwin Wallace in Berea, Ohio.
