ALLIANCE, Ohio – Mount Union's men's tennis team claimed its first win of the season with an 8-1 win against Marietta Sunday in an Ohio Athletic Conference match Sunday at Whitehill Courts on campus.

The Purple Raiders (1-7, 1-2 OAC) won six of the seven matches that were contested as the Pioneers had forfeits at No. 6 singles and No. 3 doubles.

Colton Mace (Laurelville / Logan Elm) and Ryan McClure (Ashtabula / Lakeside) swept both No. 1 doubles and No. 1 and No. 2 singles respectively.

The same double-dip was pulled off by Holden Schmid (Copley) and Lawyer Penird (Alliance) at No. 2 doubles and No. 3 and No. 4 singles.

Marietta (2-7, 0-2 OAC) got its lone win at No. 5 singles.

Mount Union is next scheduled to play Baldwin Wallace in an OAC match Tuesday, April 12 at 4:30 p.m. in Berea.
