The University of Mount Union will send 17 student-athletes (7 men and 10 women) to the 2022 NCAA Division III Track & Field Championships Thursday-Saturday, May 26-28 at Spire Institute in Geneva, Ohio.

The top eight finishers in each event earn All-American honors. The top 20 male and top 22 female times/marks in each event along top 16 relay teams in the nation have qualified for the meet.

Mount Union's men's team, ranked No. 15 in the nation, finished sixth in the 2021 NCAA Outdoor Nationals. The Purple Raiders have won an outdoor title in 2014 and 2018.

Mount Union's women's team, ranked No. 16 in the nation, has one top 10 finish in its history that being a third-place finish at the 2012 NCAA Outdoor meet.

Headlining the women's entries is junior
Kenadee Wayt (Wheeling, Va. / Wheeling Central) qualifying to two individual events and two relays. She is ranked tied for 11th in the 100-meters and 12th in the 200-meters.

Wayt joins senior
Cortni Arp (Copley), sophomore
Madison Miles (Padua / Padua Franciscan) and freshman
Mary Mason (Alliance / Marlington) in the 4x400-meter relay currently sitting fourth.

Lauren Roncone (North Canton / Hoover) in the 4x100-meter relay currently ranked 11th.

Roncone comes into the national meet also qualifying in the long jump sitting in ninth overall.

Joining Roncone in the long jump will be senior
Kennady Gibbins (Navarre / Fairless) who qualified to three events. She is ranked tied for sixth in the high jump, 10th in the long jump and 15th in the heptathlon.

Miles will also be competing in the 400-meters currently ninth.

Senior
Brit McCauley (Ontairo) and junior
Megan Wertz (Canton / GlenOak) qualified in the 1500-meters ranked 14th and 21st, senior
Michaelina Terranova (North Jackson / Jackson-Milton) 18th in the 400-meter hurdles and
Sidney Rambo (Columbiana / Columbiana Crestview) 20th in the discus.

Headlining the men's entries is the 4x400-meter relay team with senior
Tyler Gill (Greenville, Pa. / Reynolds), juniors
Jared Storm (Barberton), Matthew McBride (Conneaut) and sophomore
Justin Knoch (Canton / GlenOak) who sits in second.

The men's high jump crew will send a trio of athletes in seniors
Tanner Slack (New Concord / John Glenn),
Evan Hershberger (Dalton) and sophomore
Elijah Cobb (Mansfield / St. Peter's). Slack is tied for fifth while Hershberger and Cobb are tied for eighth.

McBride and Storm also made the meet in the 400-meters sitting in 15th and 16th.
