WHEATON, Ill. – The Mount Union wrestling team competed in the first day of the Pete Willson-Wheaton Invitational on Friday.
Mount first-year
Nicholas Nettleton (Exeter, PA / Exeter Township) advanced in the championship bracket at 157 and will wrestle Cornell College's Gabriel Smith in the quarterfinals.
Additionally, the Purple Raiders will have four student-athletes competing in the consolation bracket tomorrow: senior
Jack Stanley (Brecksville, OH / Brecksville-Broadview Hts.) at 125, first-year
Andrew Magness (Cincinnati, OH / Elder) at 133, first-year
Darese Sparkman (Massillon, OH / Massillon Perry) at 149, and first-year
Nicholas Chaddock (Minerva, OH / Minerva) at 184.
The final day of the invite will begin tomorrow at 11 a.m.
