ALLIANCE, Ohio – Mount Union's men's swimming and diving team won their season opener 143-8 over Heidelberg on Friday evening.

Top Finishers

• 200-yard medley relay: team consisting of sophomore Keith Turnbull (Stow / Stow-Munroe Falls), freshman AJ Quisno (Toledo / St. Francis De Sales), freshman Daniel Claxton (Georgetown, Guyana / West Demerara Secondary) and freshman Blayne Maurer (Canton / GlenOak) won the event with a time of 1:40.40 and the team consisting of freshman Angelo Lawrence (Mooresville, Ind. / Center Grove), sophomore Jackson Froman (Kent / Kent Roosevelt), junior Michael Hubbard (Springfield, Va. / Home school) and senior Andrew Hathaway (Lexington) finished second with a time of 1:42.71
• 1000-yard freestyle: junior Conner Arneson (Mount Horeb, Wis.) won the event with a time of 10:30.45 and freshman Cameron Burnett (Canfield) finished second with a time of 10:43.36
• 200-yard freestyle: junior Dylan Cossin (Stow / Stow-Munroe Falls) won the event with a time of 1:47.35 and sophomore Lucas Starling (Lexington) finished second with a time of 1:47.61
• 50-yard freestyle: freshman Vinny Aldewereld (Valley City / North Royalton) won the event with a time of 22.09 and freshman Bruce Beyer (Plymouth, Mich. / Plymouth-Salem) finished second with a time of 22.70
• 200-yard individual medley: sophomore Jacob Hathaway (Lexington) won the event with a time of 2:02.09 and junior Mason Wilkson (Dayton / Chaminade Julienne) finished second with a time of 2:04.03
• 200-yard butterfly: Hubbard won the event with a time of 1:59.01 and senior Eli Holm (Murrysville, Pa. / Franklin Regional) finished second with a time of 2:00.82
• 100-yard freestyle: Starling won the event with a time of 48.68 and Aldewereld finished second with a time of 50.00
• 200-yard backstroke: Hathaway won the event with a time of 1:59.22 and Beyer finished second with a time of 2:03.28
• 500-yard freestyle: Cossin won the event with a time of 5:01.50 and Wilkson finished second with a time of 5:06.62
• One-meter dive: sophomore Brett Doehring (Humble, Texas / Kingwood) won the event with a score of 110.50 and sophomore Joe Drsek (Kenston) finished second with a score of  94.10

 The Raiders travel to Latrobe, Pa. tomorrow to take on Saint Vincent at 1 p.m.
