Women's Swimming: Raiders Get Season Opening Win Over Heidelberg

ALLIANCE, Ohio – Mount Union's women's swimming and diving team got a season opening win over Heidelberg 134-43 on Friday evening.

Top Finishers
  • 200-yard medley relay: team consisting of junior Ava Breton (Cheshire, Conn.), freshman Hannah Royer (Bristow, Va. / Patriot), sophomore Nina Veldt (Holland, Mich.) and sophomore Abby Calaway (Berea / Berea-Midpark) won the event with a time of 1:56.67 and the team consisting of sophomore Jordyn Miller (Strongsville), freshman Julia Basista (Youngstown / Boardman), sophomore Kayla Stewart (Marietta) and junior Emily Hauck (Avon Lake) finished second with a time of 1:59.22
  • 1000-yard freestyle: senior Ziv Marco (Buffalo Grove, Ill. / Adlai E. Stevenson) won the event with a time of 11:26.73 and freshman Emma Ackermann (Knoxville, Tenn. / Knoxville Catholic) finished second with a time of 12:31.78
  • 200-yard freestyle: junior Emma Kreber (Cranberry Twp., Pa. / Seneca Valley) won the event with a time of 2:04.16, sophomore Isabelle Parr (Brunswick) finished second with a time of 2:07.53
  • 50-yard freestyle: Calaway won the event with a time of 25.75
  • 200-yard individual medley: Veldt won the event with a time of 2:27.76 and senior Elizabeth Regovich (Willowick / Eastlake North) finished second with a time of 2:31.62
  • 200-yard butterfly: Veldt won the event with a time of 2:26.00 and Stewart finished second with a time of 2:30.32
  • 100-yard freestyle: Hauck won the event with a time of 58.41 and Marco finished second with a time of 59.27
  • 200-yard backstroke: freshman Reagan Durbin (Dover) won the event with a time of 2:18.86 and Miller finished second with a time of 2:22.03
  • 500-yard freestyle: Calaway won the event with a time of 5:27.39 and Kreber finished second with a time of 5:28.07
  • One-meter dive: sophomore Claire Fried (Kent / Kent Roosevelt) won the event with a score of 182.40 and sophomore Celia Damiani (Amherst, N.Y. / Amherst Central) finished second with a score of 139.30
The Raiders are back in action again tomorrow when they travel to Latrobe, Pa. to take on Saint Vincent at 1 p.m.
