CLEVELAND, Ohio – Members of the Mount Union men's wrestling team competed at Case Western Reserve's Bob Del Rosa Ohio Intercollegiate Open on Sunday.
Wrestlers from 25 schools competed in nearly 600 matches at the open invitational.
Freshman
Mason Taylor (Millersburg, OH / West Holmes) had an impressive performance in the freshman/sophomore bracket as he battled back and placed 6
th at 125. After losing the first match, Taylor won four-straight for the Top-6 finish.
In the open brackets, senior
Sam Tillett (Kent, OH / Kent Roosevelt) advanced the furthest for the Purple Raiders, finishing in the consolation bracket just missing the 5
th-place bout.
Additionally in the FR/SO brackets, freshman
Maxwell Cooper (Massillon, OH / Tuslaw) just missed the 5
th-place bout at 157.
Mount Union starters will be back on Tuesday, Nov. 14 for the Raiders' Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) dual opener at Otterbein with a 7 p.m. start.
