WESTERVILLE, Ohio – The Mount Union men's wrestling team lost, 20-18, at Otterbein in its Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) dual opener on Tuesday.
Mount Union was up by as much as 15-3, before the Cardinals battled back and won after winning the last weight bout.
A pair of nationally-ranked Purple Raiders earned victories on the night. No. 16 senior
Jack Stanley (Brecksville, OH / Brecksville-Broadview Hts.) earned a win by Fall at 125. No. 18
Darese Sparkman (Massillon, OH / Massillon Perry) won by major decision at 149.
Also earning wins for Mount Union were sophomore
Nolan Frye (Cleveland, OH / Walsh Jesuit) at 133 and junior
Bryce McCloskey (Greenville, PA / Reynolds) at 184.
The Purple Raiders return to the mats on Saturday, Nov. 18 as they compete in the Olivet Duals in Olivet, Michigan with a 9:30 a.m. start time.
