ASHTABULA, Ohio – The Mount Union men's tennis team lost a tight battle, 4-3, to Penn State Behrend on Monday. The match was played at a neutral site at St. John High School, with Penn State being the host.
Mount Union (0-5) won No. 2 doubles and the first three singles competitions. Junior
Elliott Warner (New Philadelphia, Ohio / New Philadelphia) won No. 1 singles, 6-2, 6-3. Sophomore
Andrew Cavett (Beaver, Pa. / Beaver Area) won No. 2 singles, 6-2, 6-2 and teamed up with classmate
Jacob Timonere (Ashtabula, Ohio / St. John) for a 6-4 win at No. 2 doubles.
The Raiders are next scheduled to start its Spring portion of their schedule as they host John Carroll for their OAC opener on Saturday, March 22 at 1 p.m.
