ADA, Ohio – The Mount Union men's wrestling team lost, 32-9, at No. 14 Ohio Northern in its Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) dual opener on Saturday.
All three Mount Union victories came against regionally ranked opponents. Sophomore
Jacob Starkey (North Lima, OH / South Range) highlighted the night for the Purple Raiders winning 18-12 over Teagan Hendricks who was ranked No. 1 regionally and No. 7 nationally at 165. Sophomore
Mason Taylor (Millersburg, OH / West Holmes) beat No. 3 regionally ranked Colin Mellott, 9-2, at 125, while junior
Nolan Frye (Valley View, OH / Walsh Jesuit) won, 5-4, over Dylan Le who was regionally No. 4 at 133.
The Purple Raiders will next compete in the Waynesburg Duals on Sunday, Nov. 17 2 p.m.
