ADA, Ohio – The Mount Union men's wrestling team competed in day one of the NCAA Central Regional Championships on Friday, hosted by Ohio Northern.
Senior
Jack Stanley (Broadview Heights, OH / Brecksville-Broadview Hts.) advanced to the Semifinals of the Championship Bracket at 125. Stanley, who is currently ranked second in the region, will face Wabash's James Day, who is ranked third in the region, for the right to the championships match and a guaranteed spot to the 2024 NCAA Championships.
Junior
Bryce McCloskey (Greenville, PA / Reynolds) at 197 and freshman
Steven Marra (Salem, Ohio / West Branch) at 285 have advanced to compete for third-place tomorrow.
Sophomore
Nicholas Nettleton (Reading, PA / Exeter Township) who is ranked fifth in the region at 157 won two matches in the consolation bracket, before falling in the third round.
The top-3 finishers in each weight class qualify for the 2024 NCAA Championships.
