ALLIANCE, Ohio – The Mount Union women's tennis team won, 5-4, over the visiting Capital Comets inside Peterson Field House on Saturday.
The win snapped a four-match losing streak vs Capital, Mount's first win vs the Comets since 2019.
Mount Union (2-10, 1-2 OAC) swept the doubles competition, led by sophomore
Amelia Francisco and freshman Megan Reese with a No. 1, 8-5 win. Reese also won No. 1 singles, 6-4, 6-3. Earning the other singles victory for the Raiders was sophomore
Chloe Bancroft at No. 6, 7-6 (7), 6-4.
Capital drops to 3-6 overall and 1-3 in the conference.
The Raiders are back in action tomorrow, April 14, with a home match vs Westminster starting at 1 p.m. for Senior Day.
