ALLIANCE, Ohio – The Mount Union baseball team lost both games in its Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) doubleheader to Ohio Northern at home on Saturday.
The Purple Raiders (24-12, 8-8 OAC) lost game one, 5-1, and game two, 6-1.
Mount Union scored its game one run in the eighth off a sacrifice fly from junior
Joe Lenart (Cleveland, Ohio / Garfield Heights). Junior pitcher
Zachary Breeden (Cincinnati, Ohio / Cincinnati Elder) moved to 4-3 on the season, throwing 7.0 innings and giving up two runs off five hits and striking out three.
In game two, the Raiders scored first with an RBI-single from senior
Andrew Witte (Mentor, Ohio / Mentor) in the first. Ohio Northern (21-14, 10-6 OAC), however, scored six unanswered runs to complete the sweep.
The Purple Raiders are back in action tomorrow with a single non-conference, nine-inning game versus Washington and Jefferson with a 1 p.m. start.
