WILMINGTON, Ohio – Mount Union's women's swimming and diving team defeated Wilmington 183-74 in an Ohio Athletic Conference matchup on Saturday afternoon.
Top Finishers
- 200-meter medley relay: team consisting of freshman Peyton Sisler (Warren / Howland), sophomore Julia Basista (Youngstown / Boardman), junior Kayla Stewart (Marietta) and junior Abby Calaway (Berea / Berea-Midpark) won the event with a time of 2:15.38
- 800-meter freestyle: senior Sydney Grzincic (Willoughby / Willoughby South) and sophomore Emma Ackermann (Knoxville, Tenn. / Knoxville Catholic) finished first and second with times of 10:51.08 and 11:09.89 respectively
- 200-meter freestyle: senior Emma Kreber (Cranberry Twp., Pa. / Seneca Valley) won the event with a time of 2:22.96
- 50-meter backstroke: Calaway, junior Jordyn Miller (Strongsville) and senior Shawna Gordon (Manhattan, Ill. / Lincoln Way West) finished first, second and third with times of 33.06, 36.15 and 37.50 respectively
- 50-meter breaststroke: freshman Riley McCombs (New Middletown / Springfield Local) and sophomore Hannah Royer (Bristow, Va. / Patriot) finished first and second with times of 37.69 and 40.09 respectively
- 100-meter butterfly: junior Nina Veldt (Holland, Mich.) finished second with a time of 1:13.61
- 50-meter freestyle: junior Isabelle Parr (Brunswick) won the event with a time of 29.74
- 100-meter freestyle: Calaway, Kreber and freshman Lizzie Sonntag (Amherst / Marion L. Steele) finished first, second and third with times of 1:01.80, 1:07.17 and 1:11.21 respectively
- 100-meter backstroke: Sisler and Miller finished first and second with times of 1:15.93 and 1:17.93 respectively
- 100-meter breaststroke: McCombs won the event with a time of 1:23.83
- 400-meter freestyle: Parr won the event with a time of 5:08.16
- 50-meter butterfly: Stewart, Veldt and senior Erika Fogarty (Dimondale, Mich. / Holt) finished first, second and third with times of 32.96, 34.06 and 34.18 respectively
- 200-meter individual medley: McCombs and Kreber finished first and second with times of 2:41.36 and 2:43.48 respectively
- 200-meter freestyle relay: team consisting of Stewart, Fogarty, Gordon and Veldt finished second with a time of 2:03.78
The Raiders return home next when they host Westminster on Saturday, February 1 for Senior Day at 1 p.m. in Hammond Natatorium.
