Women's Swimming: Raiders Beat Saint Vincent in Season Opener

LATROBE, Pa. – Mount Union's women's swimming and diving team won their season opening meet against Saint Vincent 172-90 on Thursday evening.

Top Finishers
  • 200-yard medley relay: team consisting of freshman Elena Mackall (Columbiana / Columbiana Exempted Village), sophomore Riley McCombs (New Middletown / Springfield Local), junior Isabelle Parr (Brunswick) and senior Abby Calaway (Berea / Berea-Midpark) won the event with a time of 1:54.14
  • 1000-yard freestyle: freshman Rydell Reif (Buffalo, N.Y. / Sweet Home) won the event with a time of 11:27.57
  • 200-yard freestyle: Calaway won the event with a time of 2:01.68
  • 50-yard backstroke: freshman AJ Sliman (Amherst / Marion L. Steele) and Mackall finished first and second with times of 30.23 and 30.82 respectively
  • 50-yard breaststroke: McCombs and junior Hannah Royer (Bristow, Va. / Patriot) finished first and second in the event with times of 32.45 and 34.88 respectively
  • 100-yard butterfly: senior Kayla Stewart (Marietta) finished second with a time of 1:05.41
  • 50-yard freestyle: Parr won the event with a time of 25.55
  • 100-yard freestyle: Calaway and Parr finished first and second with times of 54.43 and 57.07 respectively
  • 100-yard backstroke: Sliman won the event with a time of 1:05.73
  • 100-yard breaststroke: McCombs won the event with a time of 1:11.23
  • 500-yard freestyle: Reif finished second with a time of 5:44.58
  • 50-yard butterfly: Stewart finished second with a time of 29.30
  • 200-yard individual medley: McCombs won the event with a time of 2:21.08
  • 200-yard freestyle relay: team consisting of Calaway, Reif, freshman Chloe Parr (Brunswick) and Parr, I. won the event with a time of 1:42.87
The Raiders head to Tiffin next for an Ohio Athletic Conference matchup with Heidelberg on Saturday, October 25 at 1 p.m.
