PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Mount Union men's wrestling senior
Bryce McCloskey (Greenville, PA / Reynolds) represented the Purple Raiders at the 2025 NCAA Division III Men's Wrestling Championships on Friday.
McCloskey lost two hard-fought matches by decision, including a 7-6 effort to no. 12 nationally ranked Gavin Layman from Ohio Northern in the consolation bracket. In the championship bracket, McCloskey fell to no. 4 nationally ranked Cameron Butka from Wilkes.
McCloskey, who finished runner-up at the 2025 NCAA Regionals – his career-best finish, made his second-straight trip to NCAAs. McCloskey, nationally ranked at no. 14, won 21 matches with nine pins and a technical fall this season.
The NCAA Championships are set in Providence, R.I., at Amica Mutual Pavilion hosted by Johnson & Wales.
