GREENWOOD, Ind. – Mount Union's men's swimming and diving team had four swimmers named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District® team.
Seniors
Dylan Cossin (Stow / Stow-Munroe Falls) and
Michael Hubbard (Springfield, Va.) and juniors
Jacob Hathaway (Lexington) and
Lucas Starling (Lexington) were all named.
Cossin is a finance and management major with a 3.56 GPA. Cossin finished second in the 500-yard freestyle at this year's Ohio Athletic Conference Championships to grab All-OAC honors and also had a second-place finish in the 1650-yard freestyle. He also grabbed All-OAC honors in the 200-yard freestyle and broke the school record and was also a member of the 800-yard freestyle relay team that broke the school record.
Hubbard is a human resource management and management double major with a 3.88 GPA.
Hathaway is a civil engineering major with a 3.95 GPA. He was also a member of the 800-yard freestyle relay team that broke the school record this season, as well as 200-yard medley relay team that broke the school record. Hathway also grabbed All-OAC honors with a third-place finish in the 100-yard backstroke and was the OAC Champion in the 200-yard backstroke.
Starling is a marketing major with a 3.76 GPA. He was a member of the 800-yard freestyle relay and the 200-yard medley relay teams that both broke school records this season.
The 2024-25 Academic All-District® Men's and Women's Swimming & Diving Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances in the pool and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
Academic All-District® honorees were considered for advancement to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. Student-athletes selected as CSC Academic All-America® finalists are denoted with an asterisk and will advance to the national ballot to be voted on by CSC members. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced April 22, 2025 (women) and April 23, 2025 (men).
The Division II and III CSC Academic All-America® programs are partially financially supported by the NCAA Division II and III national governance structures to assist CSC with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2024-25 Divisions II and III Academic All-America® programs. The NAIA CSC Academic All-America® program is partially financially supported through the NAIA governance structure.
