ALLIANCE, Ohio – The Mount Union women's tennis team won, 5-2, over Penn State Behrend at home for its third-straight win.
The Purple Raiders swept doubles competition, including two in dramatic fashion as junior
Emily Peel (Green, Ohio / Green) and freshman
Hannah Neely (Hartville, Ohio / Lake) won no. 1 doubles 7-6 with a 7-5 tiebreaker and sophomore
Emily Borchert (Richfield, Ohio / Holy Name) and freshman
Jillian Lohnes (Alliance, Ohio / Alliance) won no. 2 doubles 7-6 with an 8-6 tiebreaker.
Mount Union won the last four singles as Borchert won no. 3 (6-4, 6-0), Neely won no. 4 (6-4, 6-1), freshman
Marianna Farmakidis (Green, Ohio / Green) won no. 5 (6-1, 6-2), and junior
Chloe Bancroft (Madison, Ohio / Madison) won no. 6 (6-1, 6-4).
The Raiders will next compete on Saturday, April 12 at Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) foe Capital with a 1 p.m. start.
