ALLIANCE, Ohio – The Mount Union women's tennis team ended its 2024-25 season with a dominant 6-1 win over Baldwin Wallace at home on Wednesday.
Mount Union earned the doubles point after winning no. 1 and no. 3. Juniors
Amelia Francisco (Canfield, Ohio / Canfield) and
Emily Peel (Green, Ohio / Green) won no. 1, 6-2. Junior
Chloe Bancroft (Madison, Ohio / Madison) and freshman
Marianna Farmakidis (Green, Ohio / Green) won no. 3, 6-3.
Francisco won no. 1 singles, 6-4, 6-0. Freshman
Jillian Lohnes (Alliance, Ohio / Alliance) won no. 3 singles 7-6 (7-2), 6-2. Also winning a singles matches were sophomore
Emily Borchert (Richfield, Ohio / Holy Name) (no. 4/6-1, 6-0), freshman
Hannah Neely (Hartville, Ohio / Lake) (no. 5/6-1, 6-1), and Farmakidis (no. 6/6-2, 6-1).
The Purple Raiders finished fifth in the Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) standings.
