Men's Golf: Raiders Finish Second at Home Invite; Myers and Mariani Finish First and Second

ALLIANCE, Ohio – Mount Union's men's golf team finished in second place following the final round of the Mount Union Fall Invitational at Tannenhauf G.C. on Sunday afternoon.

The Purple Raiders finished with a team score of 593 (293-300) which was just 11 strokes back of John Carroll who won the event.

Junior Brian Myers (Wadsworth) and freshman Austin Mariani (Kinsman / Badger) led the way for Mount Union, finishing first and second overall by shooting a 141 (71-70) and 142 (69-73) respectively. Freshman Matthew Contipelli (Solon) shot a 155 (73-82), while fellow freshman Austin Wilhoit (Stow / Stow-Munroe Falls) rounded out the Raiders team score with a score of 157 (81-76).

The Raiders return to action on Monday, September 22 for the Fall Phipps Memorial at Alliance Country Club in Alliance.
