ALLIANCE, Ohio – The Mount Union women's tennis team won, 5-2, over the visiting Westminster Titans at home on Saturday.
Mount Union won the doubles point as senior Emily Peel (Green / Green) and junior Emily Borchert (Richfield / Holy Name) at no. 2 and sophomore Marianna Farmakidis (Green / Green) and sophomore Hannah Neely (Hartville / Lake) shut out their opponents, 6-0.
Senior Amelia Francisco (Canfield / Canfield) won no. 1 singles, 6-4, 6-0. Borchert won no. 4 singles in dramatic fashion with a 6-3, 7-6 (7-2) victory.
Mount Union (2-1) will next travel to Allegheny on Friday, Oct. 3, at 6 p.m.
