Men's Swimming: Raiders Swim Past Wilmington on Senior Day

ALLIANCE, Ohio – Mount Union's men's swimming and diving team defeated Wilmington 159-93 in an Ohio Athletic Conference matchup on Saturday afternoon.

It was senior day at Mount Union so prior to the beginning of the meet senior Brett Doehring (Houston, Texas / Kingwood), Jacob Hathaway (Lexington), Lucas Starling (Lexington), Keith Turnbull (Silver Lake / Stow-Munroe Falls) and Owen Zundell (Marietta) were all honored.

Top Finishers
  • 400-yard medley relay: team consisting of Hathaway, freshman Trey Nickoli (Lexington), junior Evan Kemp (North East, Pa.) and Starling won the event with a time of 3:26.46
  • 1000-yard freestyle: Zundell won the event with a time of 10:31.16 while freshmen Paul Yorkievitz (Macedonia / Nordonia) and Leo Iacovetta (Mayfield) finished second and third with times of 10:46.93 and 11:01.59 respectively
  • 200-yard freestyle: junior Cameron Burnett (Canfield) finished second with a time of 1:48.35
  • 100-yard backstroke: Hathaway won the event with a time of 52.46
  • 100-yard breaststroke: Nickoli won the event with a time of 58.41 while junior AJ Quisno (Toledo / St. Francis De Sales) and freshman Nate Campbell (Pittsburgh, Pa. / Northgate) finished second and third with times of 1:02.08 and 1:07.70 respectively
  • 200-yard butterfly: Kemp won the event with a time of 1:58.16 while junior Angelo Lawrence (Mooresville, Ind. / Center Grove) and freshman Logan Bass (Cincinnati / Indian Hill) finished second and third with times of 2:03.81 and 2:23.79 respectively
  • 50-yard freestyle: Starling won the event with a time of 21.95 while freshman Isaac Tennant (Pittsburgh, Pa. / Moon) and junior Mason Currier (North East, Pa.) finished second and third with times of 22.24 and 23.44 respectively
  • 100-yard freestyle: Hathaway won the event with a time of 47.19
  • 200-yard backstroke: Turnbull won the event with a time of 1:59.82 and freshman Santi Salazar (Wooster) finished second with a time of 2:04.79
  • 200-yard breaststroke: Starling won the event with a time of 2:15.27 and Iacovetta finished second with a time of 2:17.96
  • 500-yard freestyle: Tennant won the event with a time of 5:00.80 while sophomore Andrew Popovic (Twinsburg) and Doehring finished second and third with times of 5:12.27 and 5:14.12 respectively
  • 100-yard butterfly: Kemp finished second with a time of 51.49
  • 200-yard individual medley: Kemp finished first with a time of 1:57.98
  • 400-yard freestyle relay: team consisting of freshman Ethan Harvey (Macedonia / St. Ignatius), Tennant, Hathaway and Starling finished first with a time of 3:11.07 while the team consisting of junior Daniel Claxton (Georgetown, Guyana / West Demerara Secondary), Burnett, Zundell and Iacovetta finished second with a time of 3:18.10
The Raiders are on the road next when they head to New Wilmington, Pa. on Saturday, January 24 to take on Westminster at 1 p.m.
