WESTERVILLE, Ohio – The Mount Union men's wrestling team competed in the Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) Quad, hosted by Otterbein, on Saturday.
As a team, the Purple Raiders went 2-1, defeating host Otterbein, 35-15, and Heidelberg, 41-5. Mount lost to Baldwin Wallace, 30-8.
Freshman
Blaine Chrisman (Medina, OH / Medina) at 184 continues to impress in his rookie campaign. Chrisman, no. 3 regionally ranked, beat no. 2 regionally ranked and returning national qualifier Baldwin Wallace's Remington Bauer by a 6-1 decision. Chrisman also beat no. 4 regionally ranked Heidelberg's Owen Frizzell with a 5-3 decision and pinned Otterbein's Javon Lewis to go undefeated on the day.

Nolan Frye (Valley View, OH / Walsh Jesuit) at 133 beat no. 5 regionally ranked Colin Hering with a 10-3 decision, and freshman no. 5 regionally ranked at 165
Aiden Stecker (Salem, OH / Salem) won by an 8-3 decision over no. 4 regionally ranked Travis Richardson. Junior
Jacob Starkey (North Lima, OH / South Range) had an impressive 18-2 technical fall win over no. 8 regionally ranked Austin Dipzinski.
The Purple Raiders will next compete in the highly competitive two-day Pete Willson Invitational, hosted by Wheaton College in Illinois, starting on Friday, Jan. 30, at 12 p.m.
