ALLIANCE, Ohio – The University of Mount Union has selected Sugey Ceja to lead its women's wrestling program, bringing an impressive resume as a national collegiate finalist and a successful NCAA coach.

Ceja brings more than four years of collegiate coaching and recruiting experience to Mount Union, which enters its third season of women's wrestling in 2026-27.

Ceja joins the Purple Raiders after serving as an assistant women's wrestling coach at Tiffin University since June 2024. During her tenure, she helped coach six national qualifiers and 12 Scholar All-Americans. Tiffin also placed 18th in the National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) Team Scholar All-America standings and achieved multiple top-15 national rankings.
Prior to Tiffin, Ceja was an assistant women's wrestling coach at Lourdes University from 2022 to 2024. During that time, she helped coach a national champion, two All-Americans, three national qualifiers, and seven Scholar All-Americans. Her responsibilities at both institutions included recruiting, practice planning, and student-athlete development.
Ceja also serves as a coach with the Ohio Women's National Team, preparing wrestlers for USA Wrestling national events, including national duals and the national championships in Fargo. She has conducted wrestling clinics and camps for several Ohio programs.
As a student-athlete at Tiffin, Ceja was a two-time collegiate national finalist in 2020 and 2021 and a three-time All-American. She also placed third at the 2020 Women's Collegiate Wrestling Association (WCWA) national championships and earned USA Wrestling U23 All-America honors. A team captain at Tiffin, Ceja earned three NWCA Scholar All-America honors and was recognized on the university's Dean's List.
Ceja earned her bachelor's degree in psychology from Tiffin in 2022 and is pursuing a Master of Business Administration, with anticipated completion in December 2026. She is a 2025 graduate of the NWCA Coaches CEO Leadership Academy, is USA Wrestling Bronze Certified, and holds SafeSport and CPR certifications. She is fluent in English and Spanish.
