Men’s Wrestling: Carone Becomes Mount Union’s First Placer at JCU Opener

UNIVERSITY HEIGHTS, Ohio – The Mount Union men's wrestling team competed at the John Carroll Open on Saturday.

Sophomore Aidan Carone (Streetsboro, OH/Streetsboro) highlighted the day for the Purple Raiders, as he became the program's first placer at this tournament with a fifth-place finish at 133.

Also competing for Mount Union on Saturday were sophomore Camryn Mitchell (Louisville, OH / Marlington) at 125, along with freshmen Aidan Pastor (Madison, OH / Madison) at 125, Joseph Kana (Salem, OH / Salem) at 149, Ben Brownfield (Canton, OH / McKinley) at 149, Cole Lintner (Amesbury, MA / Whittier Regional Vocational Technical) at 157, Cody Miller (Canton, OH / Canton South) at 157, and Brayden Kobylinski (Brecksville, OH / Brecksville-Broadview Hts.) at 184.

The Raiders will next compete at the 2026 NCAA Regionals starting on Friday, Feb. 27, at 10 a.m.
