2026 NCAA Wrestling Regionals

Men’s Wrestling: Six Raiders Earn NCAA All-Region

ADA, Ohio – The Mount Union men's wrestling team wrapped up its 2026 NCAA Regionals trip on Saturday, hosted by Ohio Northern. A total of six Raiders earned All-Region honors. 

As a team, Mount Union finished sixth out of 20 teams with 105.5 points. 

All-OAC First Team freshman Blaine Chrisman (Medina, OH / Medina) highlighted the Mount Union All-Region honorees with a fourth-place finish at 184.

Three Raiders finished fifth: freshman Mason Taylor (Millersburg, OH / West Holmes) at 125, senior Nolan Frye (Valley View, OH / Walsh Jesuit) at 133, and freshman Aiden Stecker (Salem, OH / Salem) at 165.

Rounding out the top-8 All-Region honorees for the Purple Raiders were junior Jacob Starkey (North Lima, OH / South Range), who finished sixth at 174, and freshman Jack DeBoe (Mentor, OH / Mentor), who placed eighth at 149.

Also competing in the NCAA Regionals for Mount Union were freshman Layne Armstrong (Chapel Hill, NC / Seaforth) at 141, freshman Giovanni Duniec (Cleveland, OH / Padua Franciscan) at 157, junior Brayden McFetridge (Oil City, PA / Oil City) at 197, and senior Steven Marra (Salem, Ohio / West Branch) at 285.

The top 3 in each weight class advanced to the NCAA Championships.
