ALLIANCE, Ohio – The Mount Union women's tennis team lost a close non-conference contest to Grove City, 4-3, at home on Saturday.
Mount Union swept doubles, highlighted by the No. 2 doubles team of senior
Emily Peel (Green / Green) and junior
Emily Borchert (Richfield / Holy Name), who won in tie-breaking fashion, 7-6 (10-8). Borchert also won her singles match in dramatic fashion, winning 6-4, 5-7, 7-5.
The Wolverines won the first three singles and no. 6 singles, securing their victory.
Also earning a point for the Purple Raiders was sophomore
Hannah Neely (Hartville/Lake), who won No. 5 singles 6-2, 6-1.
The Raiders are back on the court Wednesday, March 4, at home against Geneva at 6 p.m.
