Trevor Szekely (Canal Fulton, OH / Northwest) hit a two-RBI double that gave Mount Union the lead in the top of the ninth inning.
Junior right-handed pitcher
Ty Dennison (Hudson, OH/Hudson) made the start and pitched 6.1 strong innings of work, tallying nine strikeouts and allowing three earned runs.
Stockton's starting left-handed pitcher Nick Kowalewski pitched a dominant 6.0 innings with three strikeouts, allowing only four hits and two runs.
The Ospreys got the scoring started by putting two runs on the board in the first inning—one run resulted from a throwing error, and the other came from an RBI groundout. After that, no runs were scored until the sixth inning, as Dennison and Kowalewski were both on their A game in a classic pitching duel.
Mount Union added two runs in the sixth inning as junior third baseman
Drew Denham (Alliance, OH / Marlington) doubled down the left field line, scoring a run. Senior second baseman
Aidan Schroeder (Pittsburgh, PA / Keystone Oaks) contributed with an RBI sacrifice fly to tie the game at two.
Stockton responded right back with a run in the bottom of the sixth with an RBI single from third baseman Joe Gmitter.

The Ospreys scored three runs with an RBI single, a passed ball, and a sacrifice fly to left field.
In the eighth inning, sophomore first baseman
Aaron Tucker (Alliance, OH / West Branch) hit a sacrifice fly to left field to tie the game at six, but Stockton found a way to answer again, as Max Kaplan hit an RBI single to left-center field to give the Ospreys a 7-6 lead.
It came down to the wire, and down to the final strike and out, the Purple Raiders found a way, as Szekley delivered a two-out two RBI double in the right-center field gap, to give Mount Union the 8-7 lead. Freshman right-handed pitcher
Logan Ellis (Lakewood, OH / Lakewood) secured the game for the Purple Raiders and earned his second win of the season, as he pitched 2.2 innings with three strikeouts.
Mount Union, 5-0 so far in its Florida trip, will play its final games in "The Sunshine State" tomorrow with a doubleheader; the first game against Rutgers-Camden at 12:15 p.m., followed by No. 7 nationally ranked Salve Regina at 3:45 p.m.
