Men's Golf: Raiders Wrap Up Opening Weekend at Transylvania Fall Invite and Wooster Gatorade Collegiate

LEXINGTON, Ky. – Mount Union's men's golf team finished in second place following the final round at the Transylvania Fall Invitational on Sunday afternoon at Big Blue G.C.

The Purple Raiders finished with a team score of 871 (286-292-293), Webster won the event with a team score of 857 (290-281-286).

Senior Brian Myers (Wadsworth) led the way for Mount Union in the final round, carding a 65 to give him a second-place overall finish and the second best 18-hole score in school history. Sophomore Jase Libb (Beloit / West Branch) finished with a 75 in the final round, while sophomore Austin Mariani (Kinsman / Badger) and freshman Tyler Pickard (Broadview Heights / Brecksville-Broadview Heights) rounded out the Raiders team score, shooting a 76 and 77 respectively.

The Raiders also had a team competing at the Wooster Gatorade Collegiate at Zoar Village G.C. on Sunday afternoon. They finished in ninth place, finishing with a team score of 598 (298-300). Mount Aloysius won the event with a team score of 570 (284-296).

Junior Vincent Borros (Strongsville) led the way for Mount Union in round two, finishing with a 73 which also put him in a tie for seventh overall. Junior John Back (Massillon / Tuslaw) carded a 72, while freshman duo Colten Smith (Hubbard) and Michael Fahey (Wadsworth) rounded out the Raiders team score, shooting a 76 and 80 respectively.
